Stop dodging the most important issue for the long term future of the British people - Europe. A referendum on the latest Europan Union Treaty/constitution/constitutional treaty is absolutely essential. If this is denied the British people, they will never forgive the hypocrisy and timidity of Gordon Brown and his Labour Party.

Progress reply:

There'll be ample opportunity to raise this issue in the morning seminar entitled 'After Iraq: Can Labour make the case for a progressive foreign policy?' Look forward to seeing you there. Tom

i disagree that the issue is being dodged. We live in a representational democracy - not democracy by referenda. Let our MPs debate and decide. Any referendum on the Treaty will be a refendum on 'Europe in or out' by proxy anyway. This debate is surrounded by so much media hysteria that I do not believe a sensible debate would be possible
