Progress Annual Conference 2006

Tony Blair will give the keynote speech at Progress' 10th anniversary conference on Saturday 9 September 2006. The transport secretary, Douglas Alexander; international development secretary Hilary Benn; Labour party chair Hazel Blears; defence secretary Des Browne; and the Northern Ireland secretary, Peter Hain, are among the other senior ministers so far confirmed to speak at the event, entitled '2020 vision - a clear-sighted look at Labour's challenges in the next decade'. Other speakers include former Conservative defence secretary Michael Portillo; former education secretary Estelle Morris; historian Tristram Hunt; and some of Labour's young rising stars, including Andy Burnham, Liam Byrne, Ed Miliband, Pat McFadden, and James Purnell.
