About Us homepage

Progress is the independent organisation for Labour party members and trade unionists.

Through our national and regional events and regular publications, we seek to promote open debate and discussion of progressive ideas and policies.

Progress is chaired by Stephen Twigg. Our vice chairs are Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP, secretary of state for culture, media & sport; Chris Leslie, director, New Local Government Network; Rt Hon Ed Miliband MP, minister for the Cabinet Office; Meg Munn MP, minister at the Foreign Office; and Baroness Delyth Morgan, former chief executive of Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity. Progress’ honorary president is Alan Milburn, the former secretary of state for health and MP for Darlington.

Membership of Progress is open to all members of the Labour party.
